One Minute Programmes is a revolutionary way to reach your target market in a highly original and engaging way. Pioneered by STV these are short format advertising funded programmes where advertisers may directly fund the production of editorial content and can be involved in the commisioning and creation of such programmes. Since early 2011, Ofcom revised the Broadcasting Codes to permit the placement of a sponsor’s products, services and trademarks withing certain programmes, subject to specific product and placement rules met. This brings greater opportunities for sponsors to further strengthen their relationship with the content through paid for product placement.
Because the number of slots available in our schedule for One Minute Programmes is strictly limited and the very keen cost of the production of the programme is factored into the overall package these represent an attractive way to gain a national presence for a relatively modest outlay. That’s why they are so highly demanded and need to be planned further out than typical advertising or sponsorship campaigns.
One Minute Programmes were first introduced in 2003 with the award winning ‘Talking Scotland’ series of films. Since then they have been adopted by many private sector companies and brands as well as public sector initiatives.
